Watch OS 1.0.1 released with improvements for Siri, activity tracking, and more.
Just over a month after the Apple Watch’s release on April 24th, 2015, Apple today pushed out Watch OS 1.0.1. The main focus in the update seems to be improvements in areas that users had complained about. Right off the bat, I can tell you that Siri feels much snappier than she did in version 1.0 of Watch OS. The speed of the Apple Watch still feels a bit sluggish, but I’m sure future software updates will fix that.
Below is the changelog for Watch OS 1.0.1.
Improved performance for:
- Measuring stand activity
- Calculating calories for indoor cycling and rowing workouts
- Distance and pace during outdoor walk and run workouts
- Third party apps
Display support for new Emoji characters
Additional language support for:
- Brazilian Portuguese
This is definitely a solid update for the Apple Watch. Watch OS 1.0.1 could’ve been released a bit sooner, but I’m glad it’s finally here.
