Android website Android Police obtained exclusive images of what the second generation Google Pixel XL might look like on Tuesday afternoon.
LG started the limited-bezel trend with the G6, Samsung built upon it with the S8 and based on recent leaks, Apple and Google will be perfecting it with the iPhone 8 and Pixel 2. Soon screens with borders will look as antiquated as headphone jacks (too soon?).
The leaked Pixel XL 2 image features a 6″ AMOLED display with tiny bezels around it and small chins sitting above and below it. The rear features a large camera sitting beside a flash and above a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The antenna lines on the back of the device seem to have vanished, but Android Police doesn’t seem to think that the phone will ship without bands entirely.
The article also indicates that this second generation Pixel XL will also ship with squeezable technology similar to the HTC U11. But it’s a feature that I still don’t get and screams gimmick louder than anything else in recent memory.
The Google Pixel XL 2 looks incredible, but very few details are known about the regularly sized version. As the device(s) nears closer to release, more details will inevitably leak out.
